I visited a this charming sandwich and Italian food spot that was clean and cozy. I went in to buy frozen lasagna for dinner, which they sell in both big trays and smaller ones, making it convenient no matter how many people you're feeding. The place also offers a delightful selection of Italian cookies, spumoni ice cream, and various Italian groceries. They have a sandwich shop as well, and I have to say, their meatball sandwich is my favorite. It's always a treat! I always enjoy stopping by when I'm in the area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality Italian food and a welcoming atmosphere.

If you're looking for a classic Italian deli in the Covina area but have never visited Capri Deli, you really don't know what you've been missing for the past 60-or-so years. Not only is this one of the more established delis in the area, but it's also one of the best! Let me begin by stating that their hot pastrami sandwiches are a must-try (packed with lean pastrami, pickles, mustard, and available either hot or cold). I love hot pastramis so, without mentioning some of the local competitors, let me say that I think their meat is the leanest of those around. During Covid, it appears Capri's was unable to secure pastrami meat from their usual supplier, so these sandwiches were unavailable for a while - but now they've been back for some time. My only critique would be that on my most recent visit the menu had been revised to display only the availability of the "smaller" hot pastrami; however, I simply ordered two regulars. I don't know why the large size is off the menu but, if this was an ingenious marketing ploy to sell more, I bit! :D My other sandwich favs include their beef dip (with Swiss) and meatball sub, which is available on their toasted garlic bread, upon request. When dining in, I also recommend ordering a draught root beer from the counter (served in an icy, frosted mug) as the perfect pairing. Please don't assume that Capri's is just a grinder joint because this is a traditional full service deli with a variety of Italian dishes, pizza, salads, desserts, and the like. Many of their dinners (lasagna, ravioli, etc.) are also available pre-packaged for oven heating at home, too. We've ordered their sandwich rings several times over the years for parties or family picnics. If you're a fan of unique and hard-to-find bottled sodas, that is another reason to visit. The coolers across from the service counter are loaded with a variety of beverages. It's also one of the few remaining places that still carries milk varieties from Broguiere's Dairy. (Keep that in mind during the Christmas season, eggnog fans!) At peak times the crowd ordering can get pretty large, but there are usually multiple staff members behind the counter, so service remains quick and efficient. Similarly, the dining-in area is small, but always clean. Additionally, the walls display a good deal of local memorabilia - mostly from a time when this little Covina treasure was part of a Southern California that was still largely citrus groves and open fields. I was shocked when I recently realized that I have never left a review for Capri Deli on Yelp - lots of Check-ins and numerous photos on various social media platforms - but never a Yelp review. Obviously, this has been loooong overdue; the only problem being that I'm now finished BUT HUNGRY for a pastrami!!!

Stopped by here in the Fran's ordered two sandwiches, a meatball and Italian. Both sandwiches were equally good and they have a huge selection of drink choices from alcoholic to non alcoholic. Will definitely have to come back for their other menu items like pizza and pasta. Sauce in the meatball sub was really good. Definitely a must try for subs.

Tove sandwiches! Great bread, good selection of meats and it has the same type of sandwich you'd get at an italian deli on the east coast. Service was good- the people behind the counter was very nice and they made my sandwich quick. They also have a big selection of different sodas with unique flavors, so that's fun.

When I was a kid, my parents used to take me to Giovanni's Pizza in Fullerton, and Giovanni's ruined me for life. Since then, I have been chasing the memory of the Giovanni's Deluxe Combo Grinder and their pizzas. And, while I have had some success, it has been fleeting. I just had the cold cut combo at Capri's, and I'm a little kid again! This is a true old-school grinder. Meats, provolone, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickle, and just the right amount of oil and vinegar to where it starts to jyst soften the seeded roll. Tha is how you make a sandwich! It was very busy, but the service was spot on and super friendly. Capri exceeded all of my expectations. I'm comg for your pizza next, Capri, I hope you can continue to take me back to the olden days...

Capri deli is a staple in this area. You can order fresh food to eat in or take out. They also have options that you can take home and bake yourself. The service is good, you order at the counter. Usually, not a long line, but you can expect a little wait because the place is so popular and the food is so good. Their menu is extensive and there is something for everyone. They also have fountain drinks as well as several variations of hard to find drinks. In the way of ambience, they do have a small dining area with refillable fountain drinks. You can find red and white checkered tablecloths. Giving it a little Italian feel.

Pastrami sandwich, lasagna, antipasto salad are all great. The wide variety of root beers as well as other sodas are very flavorful as well. I love this place, and the whole family loves this place

Even with a fairly long line at 12:30 p.m it went real fast. That's probably because it was All Hands on Deck! Kaylee took our order, charged my bill and gave me a time frame when the pizza would be done. So efficient. I always like eating in the quaint dining room which has traditional table cloths and really neat photos of old dead guys on the walls,(This includes the Rat pack, Elvis, James Gandolfini, John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe!). The food is ALWAYS a hit. So fresh, authentic and made to order. Pizza was a 14" with sausage and mushrooms. Good crust cooked just right in their original old oven. Pro tip: Be patient as I was once when I showed up when they opened the doors for a Pizza and I had to wait awhile during the initial warm up of the beast! The sausage and meatball sandwiches are absolutely amazing and served on the best roll. So tender, juicy and filling. They cook the sausage and meat balls to tender perfection in someone's Gramma's best Marinara recipe. Topped with gooey Provolone that honestly is required as it keeps the meat from falling out while you bite into the heavenly flavors! I ate this while the pizza was being made. If you can't decide whether to get sausage or meatball...ask for both! Oh boy, stick a fork in me cuz I'm done. Nap time! SYOY

Have not been here in more than fifteen years. This is one of Covinas great places to grab a sandwich. Lines are long when you come during the lunch rush. Don't worry the employees behind the counter will take care of you. There is a dining area not too big nor too small. Sandwiches are made fresh and are pretty healthy portion. There is also a section to buy products for cooking and of course the deli counter if you want meats and cheeses. I'll try to put Capri deli on the rotation moving forward I know my kids would agree.
